WHEN it comes to bridal parties you won't get better than Muriel, Marvin, Madeleine and Max.
The four know what's expected, how to perform and how to pose for those all-important wedding photographs.
Muriel,Marvin,Madeleine and Max are white Mercedes Benz classic cars owned by Mike and Lettie Deans of Classic Chauffeured Cars based on the Coffs Coast.
“Our cars always get a lot of glances and attention, we're guaranteed to get 'beeped' whenever we drive through town,” Mike said.
The classic V8 Mercedes Benz, 1969 to 1971 models, have been lovingly restored and are in pristine condition.
“Just over a year ago we decided to start the business and after we sourced the cars from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane we couldn't believe our luck at finding Leo Mueller right here in Coffs,” Mike said.
Proving the saying 'it's a small world' true, Leo did his apprenticeship in Germany in the 1960s on these exact models of Mercedes Benz and has been an invaluable help in restoring the classic beauties.
Muriel is the lead car and always takes the bride, Marvin hangs out with the grooms men and Madeleine looks after the bridesmaids while Max is usually back at the garage taking things easy on standby duty.
“They're a dream to drive, comfort all round - a really sweet ride, they can even go off road as well,” Mike said. “In their day only millionaires could afford them, Mercedes Benz has always been the ultimate in German craftsman-ship and engineering.”
Subscribing to the adage, 'what happens on the road - stays on the road' Mike wasn't about to reveal too many bridal secrets.
“One thing I'll say is that it's often panic stations when we pick them up.“
Most brides are nervous and many of them worry about the weather on their way to the ceremony but one thing they never have to worry about is being late - we always get them to the church on time.
“I also remember on one occasion we were asked by the best man to stop at a pub so the anxious groom could have a quick light ale 'calmer' - we stopped but we made sure he got to the ceremony in Bellingen on time.”
Even though they are wedding regulars, Muriel, Marvin, Madeleine and Max also attend corporate events, romantic get aways and school formals.
